Performance of 316 capillary stainless steel tubes

Capillary stainless steel tubes generally refer to thin tubes with an inner diameter of less than or equal to 1 mm. Because the diameter of such tubes is as thin as hair, they are called capillary tubes. Its use cases include medicine, building materials, automation instrument signal tubes, instrument wire protection tubes; precision optical ruler lines, industrial sensors, electronic equipment line protection tubes; electrical circuit safety protection, thermal instrument capillary protection, and hollow high-voltage optical cables. Internal support application.

The commonly used material for capillary stainless steel tubes is 316 stainless steel. Due to its small diameter, this type of capillary tube has very good flexibility, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and waterproofness. It also has excellent electromagnetic shielding performance and can be bent freely at various angles. and curvature radius, which can withstand an axial pulling force of more than 6 times the nominal inner diameter.

The corrosion resistance of 316 capillary stainless steel pipe is better than that of 304 capillary stainless steel pipe, and it always maintains excellent corrosion resistance during the pulp and paper production process. And 316 stainless steel can also resist corrosion from the ocean and corrosive industrial atmosphere.
The heat resistance of 316 capillary stainless steel tube is also good. In both intermittent use at 871°C and continuous use at 927°C, 316 capillary stainless steel pipe has very good antioxidant properties. Do not use 316 stainless steel continuously when operating in the range of 427°C to 857°C. However, when using 316 stainless steel continuously outside this temperature range, this type of stainless steel has very good heat resistance. However, the resistance to carbide precipitation of 316L stainless steel is better than that of 316 stainless steel, and it can continue to operate in the above temperature range.
In terms of heat treatment of 316 capillary stainless steel pipe, the material can be annealed in the temperature range of 1850-2050°C, then quickly annealed, and cooled quickly. 316 stainless steel cannot be hardened by heat treatment.

316 capillary stainless steel pipe also has good welding performance. Able to weld using all standard welding processes. When welding, 316Cb, 316L, or 309Cb stainless steel filler rods or welding rods can be used according to the purpose. To obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welded section of 316 stainless steel material needs to be annealed after welding. If 316L stainless steel is used, there is no need for post-weld annealing.
